North Node In Pisces
The transits have never been more clearer...sike.
Why I Do This Work (And How)
One of my favorite things about being an astrologer is that I get to focus on one of millions of aspects and motions and delineations to help bring awareness and understanding about our world and our place in it and that of others too.
I’m not really your daily horoscope type of astrologer, and this isn’t to throw any shade on those that are. Some folks are more equipped according to their unique chart designs to put out information quickly to be digested and dissected by others, because the motions do move as quickly as the delineations come out. And that has its place in astrology too.
Then you have those who do heavy amounts of research, especially with tracking and mathematics, coming up with and refining old predictive measures and preserving the ancients’ philosophies and practices when it comes to this art/science.
Then there are those of us who prefer to watch the motions play out, reflect on how it has manifested in reality, and then come back with an analysis as to what it means for everyone.
There are of course many other realms of focus when it comes to astrology, and some information comes out quicker than others. I prefer the reflection method to observe how these energies play out and then in the midst of it, come with what I see.
Now some I have to reflect on a lot faster than I would like. For instance, aspects with the Moon, because that bitch will move on in about 48 hours. So I have to reflect on its meaning in the transit like Sergeant Caroline Mason1 trying to get a confession out of the lunar transit.
“Where were you the night you lost your mind?”
Moon: “I was in Pisces!! OMG...Am I going to jail?”
I say all this to say that I may not always be first, but I’m usually right on time. And I’ve at least taken some time to reflect on what I’m sharing in hopes that I am getting to the crux of the matter so that it can be used in the future. Because many of these reports can be used over and over again for natal charts, research into past charts, for transits, for progressions, for synastries, and so on.
Let’s Talk About the North Node in Pisces
The conversation that has led me to write this piece comes from a moment of despair and depression, as I am accustomed to experiencing in regular cycles. Though I am not entirely sure that it is depression, as I like to describe it as Unhappy Happy.
Technically there is nothing wrong going on, and truth be told, I am quite satisfied and pleased with the direction of my life and my family and loved ones—minus the occasional life oopsie daisies.
Still, these moments of downward emotions give me great insights into astrology and the world around me. I typically use this time to do nothing more than think.

The Astrologic of This Behavior (for context)
Not to just turn this into a journal article, I will give you the astrologic of this behavior then perhaps you may find it in others and garner some additional insights.
Moon in the 11th house / 12th sign
Perfect square to Mercury in Capricorn in the 3rd
Also squares Neptune in Capricorn
Trine from Moon in Libra to Jupiter in Capricorn — Hidden trine
Callout — Hidden Trine:
Hidden trines are trines by aspects using degrees where they exist in signs that naturally do not trine one another. Libra and Capricorn are square. Air and Earth don’t blend easily, so that aspect of my Moon and Jupiter still exists despite the fact that by degree, they are in trine by a 6° orb. A little wide, but every now and again that savior of Jupiter comes in clutch when dealing with Moon issues; such as being able to learn while feeling like shit.
I am also a progressed Pisces Sun, currently at 03°16’ in my secondary progression.
Mercury at 5°28’ and Moon at 27°41’—all in Pisces.
Sun & Mercury square both natal and progressed Chiron in Gemini
Trine to Pluto in Scorpio
Sextile to Neptune in Capricorn
If You’re Still With Me, You’re About to Get Fed
Now I know it seems like I’m just talking about myself, but I implore you to dig a little deeper than that initial impression. Someone out here has these exact or near exact placements. And you can take pieces of which ones apply to give you a better idea.
So essentially, though I am relaying this to you in a way that reflects my own chart, here is what you are actually witnessing:
Sun in Pisces
Mercury in Pisces
Mercury in Capricorn
Chiron in Gemini
Neptune in Capricorn
Moon in Libra
Mercury in the 3rd
Neptune in the 3rd
Moon square Mercury
Moon square Neptune
Moon trine Jupiter (though square by sign)
Sun in Pisces trine Pluto in Scorpio
Someone you know or perhaps even yourself, has one or many of these aspects. I will do my best to explain them through me, but to label them as such so that you can find it in yourself or others.
Bridge back to the theme:
What I’m doing here isn’t just self-indulgent star-gazing it’s the same reflection method I mentioned at the beginning. I study my own motions the way I watch the skies: patiently, curiously, waiting for meaning to reveal itself. The chart is the microscope and the mirror. When I decode myself, I’m also watching how these energies behave in the wild, through you, through society, through the collective stories we keep writing under the same Moon.
So What Does This Have to Do with the North Node in Pisces?
Damn. Give me a moment. I’m longwinded for a reason.
However, everything has a title here so you can easily skip all my input if you wish. However, in a world that has made it near impossible to focus, I hope I can be the training wheels to get you to read THE WHOLE THING—to the best of your ability.
Of course, I’d imagine this would have something to do with my writing style and hope it’s not fucking boring or too technical.
Looking at the aforementioned list above, we should be able to see how very connected to Piscean and Neptunian energy they are. So the transit North Node in Pisces would have a greater statement upon such aspects.
But let’s go a little deeper than that, because astrology never hits just one chord.
Mercury is being lit up with the transit South Node in Virgo, pulling all the Mercurial data and detail into a purge cycle. That means every over-analyzer, every self-editor, every “but what does it really mean?” voice in our heads is getting rewired. My Mercury placements, both in Capricorn in my natal chart and Pisces in secondary progressed chart are feeling that tug, the stretch between logic and intuition.
At the same time, transit Jupiter in Cancer is amplifying all things lunar. The emotional tides, the gut instincts, the reflective moments are louder. Jupiter’s trine to the North Node in Pisces expands the call to feel, to dream, to wander a bit without the map. It’s an echo saying: “Trust the current.”
And of course, Gemini gets a slice of the action because Mercury rules them too. Every conversation, every piece of media, every stray thought is part of the feedback loop feeding both Nodes, one side dissecting (Virgo), the other dissolving (Pisces).
And then, obviously, the Pisces placements themselves; my Sun, Mercury, and progressed Moon are sitting in the middle of the storm. It’s like living inside a fog machine that keeps spitting out revelations between the waves.
Which is why I’m drawn to share what this energy feels like from inside it.
In other words:
If you’re a heavy Piscean or Neptunian individual this North Node is for you, darlin’. And since I’ve been swimming in it, I’m here to report how the waters feel.
Drowning and the Double-Edged Sword of Pisces
Let me tell you what I have discovered with this particular placement: Drowning.
Yes, Neptune and Pisces both indicate drowning, but this doesn’t have to happen in the physical sense (though it indicates that too so be mindful of harsh aspects and large bodies of water...shit...not trying to scare you...wow that’s Pisces too. My fault.)
It can happen in the spiritual and mental sense too.
And what I have noticed is that the North Node points to what is lacking in society and perhaps what’s receiving way too much of it as well; two sides of the same coin:
Lack of imagination and wonder
Too much fear and isolation
We can also see this reflected in the Saturn in Pisces transit and the retrogrades of both Saturn and Neptune. There is too much fear and lack of hope and not enough wonder and magic.
When Realism Kills Magic
You can see this in movies and TV shows as well. Everyone wants everything to be “realistic.”
This is perhaps another reason why AI doesn’t do so well in societies where people are exhausted from being lied to and deceived and not knowing what’s true, that even in movies they want the fake to be as real as possible.
(I have my qualms about things like Method acting because now that’s just experience, not acting, as I understand it. Sort of like if I ever got a role about domestic violence I would essentially be reenacting versus just acting based on my imagination. Instead I’d be doing a Moon thing (recalling emotional memory) instead of Neptune thing (illusion and make-believe)... reaching from memories versus imagining ones, but that’s another article for another time.)
Missing the Magic
I had this thought scrolling social media where perhaps some people have held on to the “magic” as it were; the illusions and fantasies of life as they should exist, and I can’t help but find myself missing that part of living.
Where pretending Santa Claus was coming brought joy to children.
Where watching a movie was more about the story versus how real the effects are or the acting is.
To find myself in wonder and imagination versus always needing to analyze everything for proof or relatability.
You know the opposing side of a North Node in Pisces being fucking VIRGO, nitpicking everything.
It’s square to Gemini: all that damned DATA.
The square to Sagittarius: trying to always explore every damn thing for the truth of it all and finding ourselves in endless loops of despair because some things just don’t have a bottom to them, Pisces.
The Sandman Analogy (Because of Course)
SPOILER ALERT
In the Netflix show The Sandman, episode 5 (”24/7”), the antagonist John Dee uses the dreamstone( a magic ruby he stole from Morpheus that has part of the Dream King himself inside of it) to create his version of a true reality in a 24-hour diner. He forces everyone to confront their hidden desires and fears.
After being forced to analyze (Virgo) their lies (Gemini) and face the truth (Sagittarius), they all lose hope (Pisces) and end up deleting themselves from reality (the trine from Pisces to Scorpio).
“It’s all lies.”
“Not lies, John. Dreams.”
“Their dreams inspire them.”
“But if you rob them of their dream. If you take away their hope then yes...this is the truth of mankind.”-The Sandman, S1E5, “24/7.”2
Also, see how trines aren’t always a blessing? It can also indicate something that can easily happen, so delusion (Pisces) to extreme destruction (Scorpio) is just a hop, skip, and a jump away.
By the way I highly recommend the Sandman if you want to see how perfect it’s release during Saturn in Pisces really is. There are so many astrological gems there I can write about them for days...hey maybe one day I will.
Collective Struggle and the South Node Trap
The North Node is one of the indicators that gives reasons for what we’re aiming towards.
When it’s in the transit chart, it can indicate what society must strive for or at least what society is focused on, the direction it’s trying to go in, while exhibiting the South Node on a daily basis.
Look at all the criticism and nit-picking going on in the world right now. From nit-picking budgets for government, to petty criticisms about one another, to wanting so much detail as to not believe in anything anymore even when it’s received because there isn’t enough time to reflect on any of it.
When we see the South Node in Virgo give way to the direction of the North Node in Pisces, we can see how it contributes to the fear, disgust, and lack of faith people have with anything or anyone.
No benefit of the doubt. Every word and action gets dissected apart until all that’s left is refuse.
And inch by inch, people’s dreams are torn apart and inspiration turns into a rat race of imitation for safety.
So What Should We Be Doing?
I shouldn’t have to tell you — not this.
Not what we’re doing now.
Because look at how unhappy so many people are.
Obviously the track we’re on is NOT working. Not in our analysis of what’s true and what’s lies.
Not in our quest for realism at any cost.
Not in our needing absolutes for all things.
We destroy wonder and dreams in the pursuit of being truth tellers and truth finders.
Rick and Morty Said It Better Than I Can
It reminds me of another show... Rick and Morty.
Bet you didn’t see that one coming.
Rick and Morty S6E6, “JuRicksic Mort” (Oct 9, 2022):3
The original rulers of Earth—dinosaurs, yes dinosaurs—come back to Earth to check on things and find it in the state that it’s in now... sort of. (This is a cartoon show, you know.)
The dinosaurs are so powerful and so beyond hardships or fighting of any kind that they come back to take over and make life for humans like the Garden of Eden. They remove all burdens and waste and essentially create a utopia for the people of Earth.
The problem? Their existence creates a need for balance in the universe thus their antithesis comes into existence: killer meteors that bring absolute destruction wherever the dinosaurs have been.
There are many destroyed “utopias” because of their presence.
They refuse to do anything bad, which in turn brings their opposite into reality. They are ready to sacrifice themselves to end the carnage but instead are forced to enact violence by destroying the meteor themselves thus ending the paradox of their extremes.
Balance.
That’s what oppositions are. The need for balance. The North Node in Pisces needs the South Node in Virgo; one should never tip the scales entirely. A little healthy skepticism with a little healthy wonderment.
A Little Hope Never Killed Anyone
We don’t have to throw the baby out with the bath water.
For example, I can tell you that believing in Santa Claus for a few years did less damage to people’s psyche than turning around and saying the whole world is a lie.
A little hope never really killed anyone (we can discuss the extremes of this later), but a lot of fear, despair, lack of trust, lack of faith has.
