• Managed by Substack/Stripe or Apple for iOS in‑app purchases. We do not receive or store your full card details.

• Device and usage data, log information, approximate location, cookies, and similar technologies used by Substack to operate the service and analytics.

Sensitive information

• Please do not submit health, financial, or other sensitive personal information in comments or emails. If you do, you consent to our processing it for the purpose of handling your message and moderating the space.

4) How we use information

• Deliver emails and manage your subscription (including onboarding and account notices)

• Publish and moderate posts, comments, and community threads

• Quote or excerpt public comments/replies in future posts, newsletters, podcasts, or other media; we’ll attribute to your Substack display name unless you request otherwise

• Analyze aggregate engagement to improve content and cadence

• Security and abuse prevention (spam, fraud, misuse)

• Legal compliance (record‑keeping, honoring opt‑outs)

5) Legal bases (EU/UK)

Where applicable, we process data under these bases: contract (to deliver your subscription), legitimate interests (to operate a safe, useful publication; to analyze engagement), consent (when you ask us to contact you, or for optional emails), and legal obligations.

6) Sharing and disclosure

We share information only as needed to run this publication:

• Substack (hosting, email delivery, subscriptions, analytics)

• Stripe/Apple (payments for web and iOS)

• Email/CRM tools we use for list management or support (e.g., Mailchimp, helpdesk/email)

• Service providers (security, anti‑spam, limited analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, or security.

8) Comments and re‑use of User Content

By posting comments or replies, you understand they are public within this publication. You grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, display, quote, excerpt, reproduce, and create derivative works from your public comments/replies in connection with this publication and its promotion—including future posts, newsletters, podcasts, compilations, and other media.

Attribution & anonymity. We typically attribute quotes to your Substack display name. If you prefer anonymity, reply to the post or email info@theegoist.me with your request and the specific comment link. We’ll honor reasonable requests going forward. (We may not be able to retract uses already published in print or previously distributed media.)

9) Data retention

We keep information for as long as necessary to deliver your subscription, maintain records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. We may retain backups/archives for a limited period after account changes or deletions.

10) Your choices and rights

Email preferences. You can unsubscribe from free emails at any time via the link in any email. Paid cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Access, correction, deletion. You can access and update your Substack account data in your profile settings. You may also email info@theegoist.me for help with access or deletion requests. If you subscribed through Apple, manage your subscription in your Apple settings.

EU/UK residents. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete certain personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive information. To make a request, email info@theegoist.me.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to this publication’s size and risk profile. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) International transfers
