The Transit Chart From Hell
A quick astrological look at the day I met my ex-husband.
This is the transit chart from the night I met the man who would become my ex-husband and the worst relationship I’ve ever had.
The night was March 4, 2010, and had I known more astrology back then, I would have been way more cautious than I was. Alas, I was also in my early twenties, so I wonder if I would have listened anyway. Those were the days of my life filled with high spirits, creative pursuits, and rose-colored glasses that seemed to be permanently glued to my face. I wasn’t exactly green about life, having been mostly on my own since I was 17, but I was naive and extremely curious to a fault.
This isn’t to excuse my choices. I know the path laid before me that night was meant for me and my journey. I know that every step and decision I made led me down that path, along with the consequences therein. I can say that I should have known better, and perhaps subconsciously I did, because the entire endeavor felt like a risk. I even knew meeting up with this man would become a problem. When I looked at his profile on MySpace, I said to myself, under my breath, “This is going to be a problem…”
For whatever reason (which I can now explain astrologically), I chose to ignore it.
I should have never pursued this person, but at the same time, I am grateful I did because the lessons I learned were invaluable. Although pieces of me are still being repaired from the damage, other parts of me that I appreciate now were finally able to appear.
Side-Note-Not-Side-Note: Just because I understand and accept my own path does not mean what happened to me was deserved or that he gets a free pass for being abusive. None of what happened to me was ok. Full stop.

The transit chart doesn’t tell the whole story, though. It describes the overall theme of the night as it would apply to everyone on that day, but where those planets were placed in relation to my natal chart is what matters.
The First Night of the Next Seven Years
So, I meet up with him for his birthday at a nightclub.
Nightclubs belong to Pisces, Neptune, and the 12th house.
He is a Pisces Sun.
The transit chart also resembled my natal chart. I’m a Scorpio Rising, and the transit chart has Scorpio Rising. So, at this moment, I’m aligned with my projection. An unevolved projection, I might add…I’m not letting go of the fact that I was not thinking clearly at all, haha.
I have Venus and Mars in Pisces, and do you see this?
The delulu was strong that night. Mercury and Jupiter were conjunct my Venus, while the Sun was conjunct my Mars. It was also his Solar Return, with the Sun conjunct his natal Sun and Mars, so we were both swimming in an ocean of dancing, music, alcohol, lusts (5th house), and apparently insanity.
Now, I want you to try to follow along here. Even though this configuration looks like a complete recipe for ignoring everything, the planetary placements were still doing their best to express themselves through the fog.
My sister was there with me that night (Mercury). When he offered to walk with her to get drinks (Pisces), he made a pass at her. She tried to tell me what happened (Uranus) because she had my best interests at heart (Jupiter conjunct the Sun).
There was a signal of awareness (Uranus) peeking through concerning my future love and relationship (Sun + Uranus + Venus), and I completely ignored it (Pisces).
Blame it on the ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahcohoollll…
In sequence, starting with Neptune in Aquarius and moving down:
I ignored the knowledge (Neptune in Aquarius), creating a wound through a lack of awareness (Neptune conjunct Chiron in Aquarius). The information (Mercury in Pisces) concerned pursuing (Jupiter) a love interest (Sun), while I remained unaware (Uranus in Pisces) of my future with this Pisces (Uranus in Pisces) and the abusive relationship and marriage that would follow (Uranus conjunct Venus). I ignored and dismissed everything (all in Pisces) because of my lusts/love (5th house).
Look at the above photo; we are still in the 12th house of this night, where one of my biggest warnings was sitting.
Saturn is exalted in Libra. People tend to believe that exaltations are automatically wonderful placements, and in truth, they do describe some of the better expressions we expect from those placements.
For example, you do want your marriage and relationships (Libra) to last for a long time (Saturn). You do want to be able to judge (Saturn) fairly (Libra).
But when you place this configuration on top of my natal Moon in Libra in the 12th house, then put Saturn in the 12th house, where Saturn is considered to have its joy, you get a very long and disappointing marriage that causes heavy sorrow.
And heavy sorrow I suffered indeed.
Saturn finds it’s joy in the 12th house because the 12th house enjoys it’s isolation and would love nothing more than to remain there for long periods of time (Saturn). Saturn works with restrictions and the 12th house prisons. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. Good for them. Not so good to experience unless you’re a monk or heavy spiritualist or even a writer or someone’s who job requires long periods of solitude.
Needless to say, I was warned more than once. My intuition warned me, and I ignored it (transit Neptune in Aquarius square my natal Saturn). My sister, who is a Libra Sun, warned me (Saturn in Libra). The large stellium in Pisces warned me that there was a lack of full disclosure surrounding everything that night, along with the effects of being intoxicated on top of it.
Those were not the best conditions for making a sound decision.
But Pisces energy is hope, and I placed my hope in a fantasy while wearing thick-ass rose-colored glasses.
Here, I go into more detail about the relationship:

Looking at Your Own Charts
If you decide to examine the chart from the day or night you met someone important, compare the event chart with both your natal and progressed charts. Pay attention to repeated Ascendant signs, contacts to the angles, the ruler of the 7th house, 5th house, and transits that are making contact to relationship/love celestial bodies like Venus and the Sun.
Then compare the astrology with what was materially happening. Where were you? Who was present? What were you told? What information was unclear or withheld? Were you sober enough to make a decent decision? What did you notice about the person before attraction, curiosity, hope, or lust began negotiating with your common sense?
One placement isn’t the end all be all for the entire interpretation. Neptune touching Venus does not automatically mean someone will deceive you, and Saturn contacting the Moon does not automatically promise a miserable marriage. Look for repetition, exact contacts, rulership, angularity, and several symbols describing different parts of the same event and, of course, most importantly, correlating physical experience.
And for fuck sake, LISTEN TO YOURSELF. I had already looked at this man’s profile and said, “This is going to be a problem,” before I ever met him. The charts didn’t manufacture that warning after the fact. They showed where the warning was coming from, how it appeared through actual people and circumstances, and why I overrode it anyway.
The astrology was speaking. My intuition was speaking. My sister was speaking.
Unfortunately, the nightclub was also speaking…and it had alcohol and a Pisces stellium on its side.

And NOW, I will be looking into my Saturn placement in my 3rd house with my glasses on. Thanks! Sheesh!
